What’s Wrong with Flat Kickboards?

Shoulders

The kickboard’s flat shape creates stress within the shoulder joint, and the surrounding muscles are overused. This can eventually lead to injury.

Neck

Tilting your head back to look forward leads to tight muscles in your neck. Over time this can lead to muscular imbalance and headaches.

Lower Back

To avoid shoulder pain, swimmers often hold the kickboards fully outstretched and arch their backs. Unfortunately, this is an unnatural position that overextends the back.
